Kiln Dry
"Kiln dry" refers to a wood drying process that uses a controlled, enclosed chamber (a kiln) to reduce the moisture content of lumber to a stable, workable level. This method offers faster drying and greater control over temperature, humidity, and air circulation, resulting in wood that is more resistant to warping, cracking, fungal decay, and insect infestation compared to air-dried wood.
At Waiqele Sawmill PTE Ltd, we operate two LPG-fired kilns, each with a 40 cubic meter capacity. Our kilns are capable of reaching a maximum operating temperature of 60°C (140°F), allowing us to deliver timber that is uniformly dried, stable, and ready for both local and export requirements.
